Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) Part 2 Preparation Course

Aim:  This course aims to effectively prepare a nurse to undertake OSCE Part 2, maximising their chance of passing OSCE on their first attempt.

Who is this course for?  International Nurses who have received offers of employment with an NHS or HSC hospital and have passed OSCE part 1 (CBT).

Course Overview:

The course is designed to be self reflective and directed, undertaken approximately over a 6 week period (approx. 18 hrs a week), prior to your arrival in the UK or Northern Ireland. The course is divided into  4 Modules-an  Introduction Module and 3 learning Modules reflective of the Domains of Competence required to become a registered Nurse with the NMC in the UK and/or Northern Ireland. You can revisit/revise over any elements within each  module by clicking on the back button.

It is essential to read the supporting materials provided in each module and practice the nursing tools provided.  You can reflect on your own scope of practice and then move between modules to build on your skills and knowledge. 

The course will:

  1. Prepare international nurses with an in-depth knowledge and background of the OSCE part 2
  2. Provide 20 simulations mirroring those that they will encounter in the Examination
  3. Provide effective preparation prior to travel to the UK or Northern Ireland, easing the transition to the Hospital induction.

  • Module 1: Introduction to the Test of Competency (TOC)Nurse OSCE Preparation Course
  • Module 2: Clinical Proficiencies
  • Module 3: APIE Test of Competency OSCE
  • Module 4 Evidence based Practice & Professional Values Skill
